Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has you taking on a lot of different roles to complete both main and side quests. "Via Argentum" — the focus of this walkthrough — has you playing the part of an investigator with the goal of figuring out exactly how Vavak is stealing silver from the royal treasury. The result is that you need to do a lot of sneaking around and exploring to dig up the evidence required.
"Via Argentum" is one of the main quests you get to after arriving in Kuttenberg City, and it's part of your overall goal at that time of getting Hans out of captivity. This quest starts off with the objective of heading to Ruthard Palace. However, you definitely want to make sure your armor and weapons are equipped and in good condition, or repair your equipment if you need to before you enter the palace, because you're going to be welcomed by a fight.

How To Start Investigating Vavak (Best Answers)
Meeting The Ruthards And Christian

After you enter Ruthard Palace and help defend it from Vavak's men, you speak with the lord and want to follow a specific set of responses to increase your reputation in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with him. It should look like this:
- Apology accepted.
- We're on the same side!
- Nobody will know.
- What should I do with him?
- But you need evidence.
Once you complete the conversation, your objective changes to finding and speaking with Christian Pisek. He's in a little mining set-up to the south of Grund, which you likely visited on your way to Kuttenberg City. You can fast travel to Grund and head south, or fast travel to the Devil's Den if Grund isn't an option. The Devil's Den is close enough that you can then ride your horse to Christian's location on the map.
When you talk to Christian, tell him you'll help with his investigation, then say that your father was a blacksmith or that your real father oversaw mines. Christian has you speak with him in private, where you get to decide the role you'll play to explain why you're going around and asking the miners questions. It doesn't matter what role you pick, as you get what you need from the miners either way (the choice only changes your introductions).
Speaking With The Miners (Where To Find Mine Entrance)
Above And Below Ground
You need to get information from three foremen about how much they mined on a specific day to start figuring out where silver goes missing. The people you speak with are Samko, Frank, and Paul. Samko is either by one of the tents or leaning against the roof that's above tables by the camp. Frank and Paul are both inside the mines, which isn't clear if you just look at the map markers. Samko has you play a round of dice before he answers questions, but you always want to go through every conversation option available.
Frank and Pavel — who took Paul's place after Paul died — are around the letter markers on the map, but you need to enter the mine before heading towards the letters since they're both underground. The entrance to the mine is found across the road from the mining camp with a guard standing beside it. Follow the same procedure of exhausting all conversation options with them before you ask about the amount they mined. Agree to pray with Pavel first, then he'll be willing to answer your questions.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Is Fun But I'm Bored With Its Romance
There are a lot of amazing features and fun content to enjoy in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but the romances just fall flat in comparison.

Report your findings to Christian, and he'll then ask you to get Herrman and Fett to co-operate, now believing they're the ones recording false numbers. During the day, both of them will be around the camp outside the mines. When you confront them, you're basically guaranteed to succeed on the skill checks, so don't worry about which one you choose. Both admit to being involved. Next, it's time to head to the smelter.

Investigate The Smelter For Answers
I hope you still have the wedding outfit you wore in "Wedding Crashers", because you need to wear it or something similar when you talk to Buresh, who's usually at one of the tables behind the inn in Grund. Tell him that you're interested in buying, then go through all the conversation options that are available so he gives you a letter that lets you explore the smelter without getting in trouble for trespassing.
On your map, there's a rectangle sectioned off by walls and to the northeast of the inn. This is the smelter. Your first tasks are speaking to a smelter, going through all the options, and taking a look at the pile of ore, which prompts the option to examine it. After you do those tasks in any order, you speak with Smelter Shima, who tends to be around the ore piles. Tell him that Buresh sent you, ask him what smelters do, and then go through every option you have for dialogue.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Miri Fajta Quest Guide
Miri Fajta is a side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 where you can rescue someone's daughter, but your actions can lead to multiple outcomes.
Then, you have to find and talk to Volkmar, who's by the horse trader. Make sure you have your armor and weapons ready again, because this leads to a fight. At best, you can demand a fair duel, but all the skill checks are tough to pass. A fair duel lets you fight just one man. Otherwise, you have to fight all three at once.
You'll want to use a Savior Schnapps or use alchemy to craft one before the fight, since it can be tough.
After winning, return to Volkmar, and he'll tell you everything, then beg for mercy. Being merciful helps you get the best ending in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, so it's worth considering. He tells you about the secret mint, which is at the bottom of the area marked on your map. You won't see a building, but there's a ladder that goes down into tunnels. When you encounter the guards, you can avoid fighting by saying you need evidence and then accepting their bribe.
Take the key from the table in the room with the guards, then enter the room across from where you entered with it. There are minters inside who tell you about the operation, after which you need to lockpick a chest in that room to get the ledger. If you want to help them, you need to fight the guards and take their keys. However, this is a side quest and not required to complete "Via Argentum." Once you have the ledger, return to Christian.
When you return to Christian, you can let him continue the counterfeiting operation or not. If you agree to it, you can take a cut of the money. If you don't, you lose reputation and need to leave. Finally, go back to Ruthard Palace with the evidence against Vavak to finish "Via Argentum" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
